What We Do
AA Public Information (PI) has one ultimate goal, and it is the same as that of every AA group and every type of service work: To carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers, but we try to reach the alcoholic indirectly, as well as directly in three ways:
1. Informing the general public about the AA program.
2. Informing “the third person” who may come in contact with the active alcoholic.
3. By keeping the fellowship informed, so members and groups may carry the message more effectively.
Why We do it
Much of the public has not had the opportunity to find out how the AA program works. There are a great many misconceptions about AA in the public eye. Unless we inform the public, many practicing alcoholics may never find us.
